US-BORN GENERATIONS

Thousands of descendants now extend from the ancestral tree following Jan Albert’s immigration to the United States in 1844. Jan Albert and Jacoba Lammers had 11 children over a 20-year period starting in 1853. The two were married in Alto, Wisconsin in 1851 and would raise the first US-born generation.

The descendants of Henry and Hannah Loomans alone—the first generation born in the United States—number in the hundreds. The chart shows the rapid growth of the family, multiplying significantly around mid-century.
